Job Overview At 9th Island Taekwondo, we believe in traditional martial arts values combined with a modern training approach. Our mission is to help students build confidence, discipline, respect, and resilience through high-quality martial arts instruction. We are seeking a motivated, professional, and energetic Part-Time Taekwondo Instructor who is passionate about helping students of all ages grow both on and off the mat. The ideal candidate is a positive role model who enjoys working with children and families, maintains high standards of professionalism, and is committed to continuous growth as both an instructor and martial artist. At 9th Island Taekwondo, we strive for excellence in everything we do. We hold ourselves to high standards of professionalism, technical instruction, character development, and service to our students and families. Responsibilities Lead and assist Taekwondo classes for students ages 4 through adult. Teach curriculum with a focus on proper technique, discipline, respect, and character development. Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for all students. Adapt instruction to accommodate various ages, skill levels, and learning styles. Provide individualized feedback to help students improve and reach their goals. Monitor student progress and assist with belt evaluations and testing preparation. Support student participation in tournaments, demonstrations, special events, and community outreach programs. Maintain class attendance and assist with student progress tracking. Communicate professionally and positively with students, parents, and fellow staff members. Enforce safety procedures and ensure proper use of training equipment. Assist with facility organization, cleanliness, and daily operations as needed. Uphold the standards, culture, and values of 9th Island Taekwondo. Preferred Qualifications Taekwondo Black Belt (1st Dan or higher preferred). Previous experience teaching or assisting martial arts classes. Experience working with children in coaching, education, childcare, recreation, or similar settings. Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills. Ability to motivate students while maintaining structure and discipline. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Current CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Experience in Olympic-style sparring, coaching, or competition is a plus. Ability to work afternoon and evening class schedules. What We're Looking For The right instructor for 9th
