ABOUT TATUM COLLECTIVE
Established in 2005, Tatum Collective provides on-site arts and movement enrichment programs for early childhood and elementary-aged students. We partner with schools and learning centers to bring high-quality instruction directly to children during the school day and after school. Our team values professionalism, creativity, dependability, collaboration, and a genuine love for children.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Tatum Collective is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable dance instructor to teach young children at partner schools throughout the Tulsa metropolitan area. This position is well suited to an experienced dancer, working artist, college student, recent graduate, or educator who enjoys working with children. A formal dance degree is not required. Practical dance experience, reliability, professionalism, and warmth with young children are most important. Training, curriculum, music, and ongoing support are provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead age-appropriate dance and creative movement classes for preschool and elementary-aged children Teach introductory ballet, tap, jazz, and creative movement Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment Follow Tatum Collective curriculum and instructional standards Communicate professionally with Tatum Collective staff and partner-school personnel Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes Experience in hip-hop, musical theater, tumbling, or early gymnastics is especially helpful.
QUALIFICATIONS
Genuine enthusiasm for working with children Approximately five years of dance, musical theater, or related performance experience preferred Experience dancing in a studio, school, theater, or performance environment Comfort leading or assisting with group classes Teaching experience is helpful but not required Dependable and motivated candidates can be trained in early childhood instruction and age-appropriate technique Professional communication skills Reliable transportation throughout the Tulsa metropolitan area Ability to pass required background checks
SCHEDULE
Classes may be scheduled during: Weekday mornings Early afternoons After-school hours The exact schedule will depend on instructor availability and partner-school needs. This is a part-time position with the potential for additional classes as enrollment grows.
COMPENSATION
Competitive pay based on experience and assigned schedule. This is an independent contractor position. Selected candidates must sign a contractor agreement and complete all required background checks before beginning work.
