Job Overview Join our vibrant youth programs team as a Dance Instructor dedicated to inspiring young dancers through energetic, engaging, and educational dance classes. In this role, you will design dynamic curricula, foster a positive learning environment, and nurture each child's love for movement and self-expression. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help cultivate confidence, creativity, and a lifelong passion for dance among children and teenagers. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels, including ballet, theater dance, and creative movement. Lead engaging dance classes that promote physical activity, coordination, and artistic expression while ensuring a fun and safe environment. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to foster respectful and inclusive spaces. Adapt lesson plans to accommodate students with special needs or early childhood education requirements, ensuring accessibility for all learners. Incorporate multimedia tools such as photography or video recordings to enhance lessons and showcase student progress. Arrive prepared and on time for all assigned programs. Represent SKDanceProject positively at partner sites. Communicate professionally with staff and program coordinators. Requirements Proven experience in teaching dance, with a focus on working with children or youth programs. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management strategies. Background in ballet, modern, theater arts, or other dance styles. Experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities; familiarity with special education practices is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and team members. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering a motivating learning environment. Ability to travel to program locations throughout Philadelphia. Must be dependable, professional, and energetic. Required clearances (or willingness to obtain them).
