Job Description

Schedule/Hours:
Pay class casual, position active during camp schedule This position is responsible for: Plans, coordinates, and directs the School of Excellence Arts program, ensuring program quality and the safety of youth at all times. Plans, implements, coordinates, and supervises an assigned group of children and youth participating in a Christian Camp. Provides faith-based guidance and role modeling to campers. Provides guidance and role modeling to youth, ensuring a safe and positive experience for campers. Participates alongside campers during camp worship meetings and times of prayer. Leads devotional activities and faith-based songs with campers and supports the seeker's ministry.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates Christ-like care and will be responsible for praying with campers, encouraging them spiritually, and guiding them in their Christian walk. While on duty, staff members conducting these ministerial responsibilities must ensure that their words, actions, and behavior align with the doctrines and theology of The Salvation Army. Provides training and development of campers for performing, visual, or culinary arts, public speaking, performance, and service learning. Supervises and organizes an assigned group of campers during scheduled and unscheduled time blocks, in accordance with camp rules and regulations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Some physical requirements of the instructor position include endurance, such as climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate equipment and perform various activities. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to read and hear music notes, play musical instruments, sing, cook/bake, etc. Working Conditions Operate in daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.
Employee Benefits:
None Education and Experience Six months of experience teaching creative arts, with the ability to perform and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student, preferred. or Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
