Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Ballet Instructor to teach students age 3 to 8 of various skill levels the basics of classical ballet. In this role, under a supervision of the Artistic Director you will create engaging lesson plans, foster a positive learning environment, and nurture a love for dance while emphasizing proper technique, artistry, and discipline. This paid position offers a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on students' lives through movement and creativity while expanding your own teaching skills and horizons under the guidance of seasoned ballet coach with decades of teaching experience using famous Russian Vaganova curriculum. Duties Develop comprehensive ballet curricula tailored to appropriate age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of choreography, technique, and performance skills, closely following the guidance of the Artistic Director Lead engaging dance classes that promote proper posture, alignment, flexibility, and strength while encouraging self-expression and confidence Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and motivating environment for all students Assist with choreography for performances or showcases to highlight student progress Collaborate with other instructors and students' parents during preparation and rehearsals for the shows and recitals Requirements Proven experience in teaching ballet to diverse age groups, including early childhood education, including preschool experience Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies and willingness to learn and adjust these based on guidance from the Artistic Director Familiarity with working with children with special needs or in inclusive educational environments is a plus Ability to demonstrate ballet techniques clearly while inspiring students through energetic instruction Experience in choreography, stage performance preparation, or theatrical dance productions is desirable Experience in teaching other dance styles, such as lyrical, modern or contemporary is a definite plus Experience working with and choreographing for a competition team is a big plus

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
