Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Instructor Assistants, Jr. Instructors, and Multisport Instructors will provide support for various facility-operated basketball and volleyball programs. This position is not eligible for remote work.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
ASSISTANT Assist in the set-up and clean-up of group classes, grass roots programs, and kids' camps Guide program participants to appropriate class locationsJR. INSTRUCTOR
Assist in the set-up, instruction, and clean-up of group classes, grassroots programs, and kids' camp Demonstrate basic basketball and volleyball skills as needed Assist in actively recruiting new players and lesson participantsMULTISPORT INSTRUCTOR
Develop and adjust practice plans based on participant skill levels Lead instruction for program participants of all ages in a safe and professional manner Support fundamental basketball or volleyball skill development Actively recruit new players and lesson participantsADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute policies and procedures professionally and accurately Communicate clearly with staff and patrons Assist in keeping facility management and parents informed of activities and problems Understand emergency procedures for equipment and evacuation of the buildingJOB QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience coaching and/or playing basketball or volleyball at a high school level or above is strongly preferred Must be able to demonstrate and effectively teach core sports fundamentals and adapt to varying skill levels First aid, CPR, and AED training is preferred Ability to communicate effectively while working independently and as a team player Follow all facility rules, policies, and procedures Ability to work flexible hours; evenings and weekends are integral to this positionPhysical Demands and Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an office and court environment, with noise levels usually moderate to quite loud.
