Overview We are seeking an energetic and passionate Tap Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages through the art of tap dancing. This dynamic role involves teaching rhythmic footwork, developing engaging lesson plans, and fostering a love for dance and movement. As a Tap Dance Teacher, you will create a lively classroom environment that encourages creativity, discipline, and technical skill. Your expertise will help students build confidence, coordination, and a deep appreciation for the performing arts while promoting physical activity and artistic expression. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive tap dance curricula tailored to various skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Lead engaging dance classes that emphasize proper technique, rhythm, timing, and musicality. Develop choreography for performances, recitals, and community events that showcase students' progress. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to growth and creativity. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support ongoing development. Incorporate elements of musical instruments, theater experience, and visual arts into dance instruction when appropriate. Collaborate with other instructors on interdisciplinary projects such as theater productions or youth programs. Skills Proven experience in teaching tap dance with a strong understanding of rhythm, timing, and footwork techniques. Ability to develop engaging curriculum plans that cater to diverse age groups and skill levels. Excellent classroom management skills to maintain discipline while fostering a fun learning atmosphere. Experience working with children and youth programs, including early childhood education or preschool settings. Strong choreography skills with the ability to create innovative routines for performances. Knowledge of teaching arts broadly—including visual arts, performing arts, music instruction—and integrating these elements into dance lessons. Ability to plan lessons effectively while adapting to individual student needs and developmental stages.
