Job Description
Rainier Dance Center is looking for a Saturday teacher for 3-6 year old dancers during our 2026-27 dance season! Classes include Creative Dance/Pre-Ballet and Ballet/Tap combo classes - all on Saturdays. We can offer 5-6 guaranteed classes/hours every Saturday. Class hours are Saturdays from 9:00am-3:00pm starting September 19, 2026 through mid June, 2027. We're also in need of an experienced Jazz and Tap teacher! If you also teach these genres, in addition to ages 3-6, and you're interested in more classes, we may be able to give you 1-2 weekday afternoon/early evening shifts with 2-4 classes each day! You must have at least 3 years of teaching experience with ages 3-7 and with teaching Creative Dance/Pre-Ballet and beginning Ballet and Tap. We follow Anne Green-Gilbert's/Creative Dance Center's brain compatible dance curriculum, so if you've already completed their training course, you're all set! We're willing to cover the cost for the right teacher(s) to complete this training, as long as they're willing to commit to teaching at RDC for an agreed-upon set length of time. RDC is located in Rainier Beach. We have a diverse student population, we are community-minded, and value inclusion, body positivity, individuality and our dancer's health (both mental and physical) above all else. We're looking for the right fit - someone who has a passion for teaching young beginning dancers and who appreciates their energy and spirit and who knows the value in providing quality dance education to these young age groups. We're looking for someone who as several years of teaching experience with this age group, who wants to build relationships with their students and whose philosophies around teaching young people are similar to ours! We offer competitive teaching pay, paid admin time for all meetings, rehearsals and performances, financial assistance for continued learning, free classes for family members, and the opportunity to contribute and help shape our curriculums, policies and studio culture.
