Job Description

Director of Pickleball Programming The Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC) is a prestigious private 36-hole facility located 25 miles north of Atlanta. Founded in 1898 by a group of young professionals seeking a place to enjoy both indoor and outdoor athletics, the Club has continued to grow and evolve over its long history. Originally established downtown on Edgewood Avenue, AAC expanded over the decades, adding a golf course and country club at East Lake in 1915 before relocating to its current Johns Creek location in the late 1960s. The Club has been home to many great athletes, most notably Bobby Jones. Atlanta Athletic Club's Racquets Center is recognized as one of the premier private racquet facilities in the Southeast, featuring climate-controlled indoor courts, twelve outdoor Har-Tru clay and hard courts, and eight dedicated pickleball courts. Awarded Facility of the Year by both the USTA and the Georgia Professional Tennis Association, the center offers year-round programming, expert instruction, and exceptional playing experiences for members of all ages and skill levels. Position Summary The Director of Pickleball Programming supports the Racquet Sports Director in all aspects of the pickleball operation and is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of the department. This role serves as the primary on-site leader in the Sport. The Director of Pickleball Programming is expected to uphold the purpose and core values of the Club while delivering an exceptional experience for members and guests. Mission Statement of Racquet Sports Center It is the mission of the Racquet Sports Center to provide our members with an organized agenda of opportunities for a quality racquet sports experience. It is the department's purpose to support the goals of the Club and to work in collaboration with all departments. We will make every effort to remain a visible source of satisfaction and a verified cause of success at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Primary Responsibilities Support the daily operations of the Pickleball Department and serve as the Professional on Duty when assigned Ensure accurate member billing and program administration Develop, implement, and oversee year-round pickleball programming, including lessons, clinics, leagues, camps, tournaments, and social events Maintain and enhance beginner and intermediate instructional pathways, including Pickleball 101 and 201 programs Collaborate with the Racquet Sports team to create new programs and instructional opportunities Assist members in joining league teams and provide coaching, feedback, and player development opportunities Monitor court conditions and communicate maintenance needs in a timely manner Assist with pickleball retail operations and equipment recommendations Contribute content for newsletters, website updates, and promotional communications Qualifications Minimum of three years of experience managing pickleball programs at a private club, resort, or high-end recreational facility preferred PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry), RSPA, or equivalent certification preferred Minimum 4.5 DUPR or equivalent playing ability Background in tennis instruction preferred This job description is intended to outline primary responsibilities but is not exhaustive.
