Job Summary Reporting directly to the Dean, the Director of Student Advancement and Experiential Programs provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the College of Business (COB) student lifecycle, including recruitment, academic advising, retention, experiential learning, and career outcomes. The Director of Student Advancement and Experiential Programs is responsible for designing and implementing high-impact, mission-driven programs that enhance student success, strengthen employer engagement, and improve measurable outcomes consistent with ACBSP accreditation standards. This role serves as a key liaison between the College, prospective and current students, employers, and university partners; leads data-driven assessment and continuous improvement efforts; supports resource development through grants and external funding; and contributes to the academic mission through teaching. Job DescriptionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Student Success Lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategies to recruit, retain, and graduate high-quality COB students. Oversee and continuously improve academic advising systems to support student progression, timely graduation, and academic success. Align all student-facing initiatives with COB mission, strategic priorities, and ACBSP accreditation standards. Experiential Learning & Career Outcomes Design and manage experiential learning initiatives that build professional competencies, including internships, applied learning, and student employment. Serve as the primary liaison to employers, industry partners, and the university Career Development Center to expand internship and job placement pipelines. Develop and track key performance indicators related to student career readiness, placement, and employer engagement. Student Engagement & Professional Development Foster a culture of professional aspiration through co-curricular programming, student organizations, leadership development, and recognition events. Provide strategic oversight and support for COB student clubs and faculty advisors. Design signature programs and ceremonies that celebrate achievement and reinforce the College's professional identity. Assessment, Data, and Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain data systems to assess recruitment, retention, advising effectiveness, experiential learning participation, and career outcomes. Lead a structured, data-driven continuous improvement process aligned with ACBSP standards. Establish key performance indicators (KPI) with goals and metrics that will be reviewed at the end of each semester. Prepare and present regular reports, dashboards, and analyses for the Dean, advisory boards, accreditation reviews, and other stakeholders. External Relations & Resource Development Support fundraising and resource development efforts, including grant writing and external partnership development, to sustain and grow student-focused initiatives. Represent the College in internal and external forums related to student success, workforce development, and community engagement. Administrative & Collaborative Leadership Maintain consistent communication with the Office of the Dean through structured reporting and monthly business reviews. Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment of student success initiatives with academic programs and institutional priorities. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the College's mission. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree required, from regionally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Preferred Qualifications MBA preferred, from regionally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Experience as collegiate classroom instructor preferred. Experience with grant writing preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Proficient in utilizing computer and Internet-based technology, including social media. Experience communicating with, and developing, young adults. Skilled in building consensus, presenting, communicating, and interacting at all levels in the organization and its decision-making processes. Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously. Self-starter with the ability to execute toward organizational goals with minimal oversight.
