Job Description
The Director of Student Development is responsible for advancing student engagement, leadershipdevelopment, and key operational initiatives within the Office of Student Affairs. This role provides oversight of Resident Assistant (RA)training and programming, student leadership initiatives, student conduct processes, family engagement efforts, office operations, andbudget management. Working collaboratively with campus partners, this position plays a central role in fostering a supportive andengaging student experience that promotes leadership, accountability, belonging, and holistic development. The Director also contributes tocampus-wide initiatives, supports student success efforts, and helps shape a vibrant co-curricular environment. Student Leadership Development Apply student development theory and best practices toleadership initiatives Develop and implement leadership programs for student leaders Provide training, mentorship, andsupport to student employees and leaders Promote student engagement, responsibility, and personal growth Student Conduct Support the student conduct process using an educational, student-centeredapproach Meet with students, assign appropriate educational outcomes, and document cases Provide follow-up and supportregarding behavioral expectations and community standards Collaborate with Student Affairs staff to address student concerns Family Engagement Develop and distribute regular family communications,including newsletters Plan and coordinate Family Day events Strengthen connections between families and the collegecommunity Office/Budget Management Support daily operations of theStudent Affairs office Coordinate communications, scheduling, and workflows Track expenses and maintain accurate financialrecords Ensure responsible stewardship of resources
