Organization Details Organization Information Lyon County Schools, located in Eddyville, Kentucky, on the northeast shore of Lake Barkley, enrolls approximately 838 students in schools which are located on one large campus. Our district met all the goals for AYP as required by No Child Left Behind. We also saw outstanding achievment from our students on the KCCT, EXPLORE, PLAN, and ACT. Our school system is concerned with the development of the whole child and prides itself in a caring and nurturing climate for students, parents, and teachers. To implement the teaching of new standards in math and English and to encourage highly effective teaching and learning, our district emphasizes Professional Learning Clubs for teachers. These PLCs are led by members of the District Leadership Team, sharing current initiatives and communicating high expectations for all.
