SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Leads team and supervises curriculum and instructional program planning, development, and implementation of college and career readiness programs related to technology education, dual enrollment, and career and technical education (CTE). Pursues and manages various state and federal grants. Coordinates state visits, monitoring reviews, Perkins and CTE reporting requirements, and prepares MSDE-required letters of support for CTE facility construction and renovation projects. Leads school system partnerships with student focused higher education and business industry leaders to prepare students for college-level studies and career connected learning experiences before or by high school graduation. Manages programs to promote parent involvement and support for student success. Serves on various districtwide committees in support of local and regional program options for all students. Provides training for administrators and classroom teachers. Keeps abreast of national and state trends in program areas. Leads program monitoring and evaluation and directs evaluation and selection of textbooks, instructional materials, and equipment in the area of specialty. Interprets the programs to the Board of Education, staff, and community.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of current educational principles, best practices and procedures in program development, staff training, instruction, and assessing program needs in the assigned area. Thorough knowledge of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) organization, administration and policy related to curriculum, assessment, and instruction; and federal and state laws related to curriculum, assessment, and instruction, career and technical education, college and career readiness legislation. Knowledge of national, state, and local standards and assessments and ability to apply them to curriculum and classroom instruction. Knowledge of college and university admissions procedures and district/postsecondary counseling practices. Knowledge of comprehensive program development and monitoring, grant writing, and current research and theory in the assigned area. Knowledge of accountability measures and achievement data analysis. Knowledge of technology to support learning, data analysis, and communication. Knowledge of effective practices for instruction in the assigned area to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Ability to design and deliver professional development. Ability to work effectively with postsecondary and business partners, principals, staff, and parents, as well as state and national colleagues to implement and monitor programs in diverse settings. Ability to design, implement, and monitor student academic support programs. Excellent planning, organization, management, communication (oral and written), and human relations skills. Ability to prepare documents and presentations for the superintendent and Board of Education.
Education Training Experience:
Master?s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in the area of responsibility and course work in curriculum, assessment, instruction, leadership/supervision, or administration. Five years outstanding teaching experience at the secondary level, including CTE. Administrative or supervisory combined experience of at least five years preferred. Successful recent leadership experiences in assessing districtwide program needs, curriculum and assessment development, instructional practices, program implementation, managing large program budgets, and writing/managing multiple grants. Experience working effectively with various district offices, institutions of higher learning, MSDE, community organizations, government agencies, and businesses. Experience in data analysis of student achievement, policy and regulation development desirable. Experience with instructional technology applications to support teaching and learning, curriculum development, staff training, program and student accountability, and communication.�
Certificate License:
Maryland Certification requirements for supervisors and principals or Administrator I required.
