Job Description
The Fraternity & Sorority Life Leadership Development Coordinator is responsible for managing assigned functions within the Offices ofStudent Engagement related specifically to supporting our fraternities and sororities. The Coordinator collaborates with various areas oncampus, especially with Athletics, Admissions, and Student Success. They are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment, and toutilizing restorative practices to foster a sense of community among students. The Coordinator should understand best practices fornurturing, coaching, and growing our fraternity and sorority community. This position allows on-campus housing, subject toavailability.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all software used to support fraternity and sorority operations andrecruitment. Serve as the main point of contact for the National Interfraternity Conference (NIC) and National PanhellenicConference (NPC). Serve as the primary advisor to all Councils. Manage the recruitment and intake processes for allcouncils. This includes corresponding with the RFM specialist for Panhellenic recruitment, and ensuring all organizations abide by theirnational organizations' recruitment requirements. Support chapters with the recruitment of new alumni advisors. Developand implement training programs/initiatives for chapter advisors. Support the Department of Residence Life with managing allfraternity and sorority properties. This may include co-supervising Resident Assistants in those facilities. Host monthlyleadership development programs for students involved in fraternities and sororities. Host semesterly training for all executiveboard members of chapter and councils. Manage the approval process for fraternity and sorority events (alcohol and non-alcoholpresent). Develop recruitment materials annually and partner with the Division of Enrollment Management to highlight fraternityand sorority life in marketing and recruitment materials. Maintain accurate records and data pertaining to all fraternity andsorority life activities. This includes rosters, recruitment lists, grades, other campus involvement, retention data, et cetera. Meet regularly with all chapter and council presidents. Support the operations and management of the Crown Student Center. Support the efforts of the College's CARE Team. Works with all units within the Student Experience Division in creating anenvironment that enhances retention and graduation completion. Serve in administrative on-call rotation to respond as needed tonighttime or weekend emergencies. Work with the Director of Student Engagement to create and implement programming that islearning-outcome centered and supports fraternity/sorority members holistic development. Implement tactics that support fraternityand sorority students with articulating the value of their membership and leadership roles. Attend regional and nationalprofessional conferences as deemed necessary by the Director of Student Engagement, Vice President for Student Experience and/or President.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in College Student Personnel or related HigherEducation degree preferred. 1-2 years of experience working with college-aged students in related fields (graduate experience inhigher education is acceptable). Experience working with individual chapters and councils. PC skills including, but notlimited to, word processing and spreadsheets, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher,Internet and e-mail.
