Immediately Job Description Academic Director | Pocosin Innovative Charter School | Creswell, NC Pocosin Innovative Charter School (PICS) is a K-8 public charter school in Creswell, North Carolina, serving just under 300 students in Washington County. Our mission is to provide a high-quality education rooted in regional agriculture and the surrounding community, preparing students to become respectful and productive citizens. We are seeking an Academic Director to serve as the face and heart of the school. This is a visible, community-rooted leadership role for someone who is ready to build trust, own the academic vision, strengthen instructional systems, and invest deeply in a school community that is ready to grow.
Compensation:
$95,000 to $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Benefits:
Health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid time off
Start Date:
July to August 2026
Location:
Creswell, NC (on-site; relocation required before start date)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's required; Master's in Education or Educational Leadership preferred 3 to 5 years of classroom teaching experience 2 to 3 years in a school leadership or instructional leadership role Track record of improving student outcomes through data-informed leadership Commitment to rural, community-rooted school settings The full job description, application instructions, and required materials are included in the formal application.
