Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage the district's curriculum and instruction department for grades 6-12. Ensure that the development and delivery of curriculum and the instructional program is effective and efficient, incorporates district goals, and supports student achievement. Implement state and federally mandated student assessment programs for the district for grades 6-12. Ensure security and integrity of testing materials and data in accordance with state and federal requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in education administration (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Knowledge of the state testing program and accountability system Ability to use student test data systems Ability to perform statistical analysis Ability to use personal computer and software programs to collect, report, and present data and test-related information Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Three to five years experience as a classroom teacher Three to five years experience in instructional leadership roles preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee the development and delivery of curriculum and instructional programs that incorporate district goals and support student achievement (i.e. CTE, Dual Credit, Advanced Academics). Participate in the district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district's goals and objectives and major classroom instructional programs. Ensure that goals and objectives are developed using effective collaborative processes and problem-solving techniques. Monitor and reevaluate instructional programs on an ongoing basis using input from teachers and principals, applied research, and student data to determine effectiveness and improve outcomes. Recommend changes and adjustments where appropriate. Ensure that the necessary time, resources, materials, and technology to support accomplishment of education goals are available. Collaborate with curriculum specialists, principals, teachers, and other instructional staff to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on a systematic review and analysis. Engage instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional tools and materials to meet student learning needs. Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals and objectives and campus performance objectives. Oversee staff development programs, including new teacher orientation, and provide effective activities that support instructional programs, incorporate input from teachers and principals, and are consistent with the district's mission. Develop procedures and processes in the implementation of the designated teacher appraisal system. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in curriculum and instruction area. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. Implement and monitor the district's mentoring program(s) in conjunction with the Human Resources Department. Develop and administer the curriculum and instruction budget based on documented program needs and ensure that operations are cost effective and funds are managed prudently. Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. Other duties as assigned. Testing Implement procedures for ensuring security and confidentiality of state-mandated testing programs and other assessments. Direct and oversee test implementation and monitor testing activities to ensure that procedures are followed and deadlines met. Provide timely support for testing administrators. Consult with staff to provide appropriate testing accommodation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students and students receiving special services. Identify, investigate, and address testing irregularities. Report discrepancies and disciplinary actions taken against students as required. Analysis and Collaboration Develop and distribute statistical studies, analysis, and evaluation reports as required. Work with instructional teams to analyze test data and develop student achievement goals and objectives. Consult with district staff to develop, administer, and interpret assessment guidelines and procedures. Recordkeeping, Reporting, and Inventory Maintain and ensure integrity of testing data. Ensure all materials and data are submitted within established timelines. Complete evaluation and compliance reports as required by federal and state programs. Track and monitor location of test materials throughout the distribution, return, and storage process. Compile, maintain, file, and secure all reports, records, and other required documents. Other Contribute to the development and delivery of training for district and campus test administrators to ensure that tests are conducted and procedures are consistently followed.

Position Type:
Full-Time Job Requirements At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Master degree preferred. Citizenship, residency or work visa required
