Primary Purpose:
To coordinate the overall campus intervention program to prepare students for college and career readiness and to assist in the systemic delivery of interventions for students who struggle regarding Advanced Academic coursework.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized, accredited college/university preferred Valid Texas teaching certificate
Current ESL Certification:
ESL Certification required within (2) years of employment beginning with teachers hired in the 2010-2011 school year Completed initial 30 hours of Gifted/Talented (GT) training and current with 6-hour annual update
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong instructional leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of curriculum & instructional protocols, pedagogy and delivery Effective human relations and leadership skills Ability to implement policy and procedures Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Five (5) years of successful experience in education as a high school teacher preferred Experience working with Advanced Placement, SAT and ACT preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional and Program Management Plan, organize, coordinate, and facilitate campus Advanced Academics testing including Gifted/Talented, Advanced Placement, and SAT School Day. Disaggregate PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, ACT, and Advanced Placement scores to determine student achievement and to use in program evaluation. Provide informational updates on PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP, and OnRamps to the campus principal, teachers, students, and families. Provide instructional and programmatic guidance, support, and leadership to GT/AP Alief and AAC/OnRamps teachers. Work with campus administrators and district personnel to plan, develop, evaluate, and coordinate advanced level curriculum and instruction including Advanced Placement Syllabi. Ensure that high school teachers have the necessary training and materials to improve Advanced Placement participation and scored. Determine, plan, and secure the necessary time, resources, interventions and materials to support the accomplishment of advanced academic goals. Other Maintain confidentiality. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.

Probationary contract - 205 days plus 4 days of Alief U professional development for a teacher new to the district 2025-2026 Salary Schedule Minimum teacher salary is $70,270 (base $70,270 + $2,400 Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) Stipend) Salary is based on 205 days. If working less than 205 days, the salary will be less.
