Chief Academic Officer Position Summary The Secondary Instructional Supervisor provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the district's elementary educational programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality instruction, equitable access to resources, and continuous school improvement. The instructional supervisor will serve as the bridge between district-level goals and classroom-level execution, fostering a culture of collaboration across all departments and school sites. Key Responsibilities Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate instructional coordinators and specialists to ensure departmental goals are met. Work closely with Elementary Education, Special Education, English Language Learners (ELL), and other departments to ensure a cohesive K-12 vertical alignment. Act as a primary liaison and collaborator with secondary school principals, providing guidance on instructional best practices and school-based decision-making. Lead Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives. Analyze student achievement data to drive district-wide instructional decisions and intervention strategies. Oversee the research, pilot programs, and formal adoption process for secondary textbooks and instructional materials, ensuring alignment with state standards. Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive professional learning plans for teachers and administrators rooted in research-based pedagogy. Provide strategic input for the instructional budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support student growth and program sustainability. Support schools in developing and monitoring School Improvement Plans (SIP), specifically focusing on closing achievement gaps. Provide instructional guidance and oversight for special programs (e.g., CTE, Gifted/Talented, ELL, Fine Arts, HPE, etc). Collaborate with the communications department to support initiatives that increase family involvement and community understanding of the elementary curriculum. Serve as a representative for the district in community forums regarding secondary education. Ability to analyze complex data sets, facilitate large-group professional development, and manage instructional budgets. Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to value diverse perspectives among teachers, parents, and administrators and unite stakeholders to support the school division's vision. Commitment to supporting diverse learners and ensuring equitable access to opportunities for all students to succeed. Ability to think systemically to develop effective processes and clear communication structures. Qualifications Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Valid State License with Administrative and Supervision endorsement. Minimum of 5 years of successful secondary teaching experience. Prior experience in school-based or district-level leadership (e.g., Principal, Assistant Principal, or Lead Coordinator) preferred. •Salary based on 25/26 pay scale.
