Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and supportive Drama Instructor to teach full-time or part-time. Classes are developed around your expertise and may include acting, improv, musical theatre, screen writing, voice acting, puppetry, etc., as well as other non-drama related classes, taking advantage of your existing skills and talents. Join our team and add to our warm, family-like environment. We are looking for someone who is creative, understanding, flexible, and can bring out the best in people with intellectual disabilities. Make a difference by helping our students develop their artistic skills, creativity, and overall personal growth.
About ASPIRE Creative Arts Program:
ASPIRE Creative Arts Program is a non-profit arts organization for adults with intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to empower adults with intellectual disabilities through the visual and performing arts . At ASPIRE, we encourage our students to explore new opportunities and experiences which may bring light to undiscovered skills and talents. In 2021, ASPIRE was honored with the Service Provider Spotlight Award from RCOC for "outstanding service to people with developmental disabilities." Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:00pm Full time preferred, part time available
General Responsibilities:
Work closely with students to nurture their development socially, emotionally, creatively, and artistically. Plan and organize appropriate curriculum for your classes. Develop and maintain a therapeutic environment conducive to learning, personal growth, and creative expression. Document student progress. Assist the team in formulating and implementing student goals for each individual. Work closely and effectively with the team of staff to assist in the planning, organizing, and supporting of special events and performances. Assist in the planning and directing of activities for volunteers assigned to your class.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Other Requirements:
Must pass a background check.
