Job Description

Position Description:
The Theatre Education Instructor is an education position responsible for teaching, implementing, and contributing to the educational programs at Riverside Theatre and serving as a Drama Education Specialist at local elementary schools as a shared employee with The Learning Alliance (TLA).
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
Teach drama classes, workshops, and camps in school, theater, and afterschool settings Uphold the

The Pursuit of Perfection-Ensemble Staffing-Community Leadership Assist and run education classes and workshops in public school, community group, and theater settings Develop and teach curriculum for Community Engagement Groups Represent Riverside Theatre and The Learning Alliance in the community and schools in a professional, respectful manner Supervise and teach children in class, workshop, and camp settings
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Relevant teaching experience in the Arts, especially in public school settings Bachelor's degree, minimum, that is in the Performing Arts and/or Education Positive and upbeat personality A willingness to develop and implement an arts integrated curriculum Ability to interact positively with youth, parents, coworkers, and community partners Familiarity with children's literature and theatrical scripts and material Enjoys teaching and working with young people of all ages Experience implementing and/or creating educational programs
