Orchestra Instructor (Adjunct)

Job Description Rockdale County Public Schools is seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Adjunct Orchestra Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will serve both a middle school and a high school orchestra program, providing instruction to mixed-level, mixed-grade ensembles.

The selected candidate will teach orchestra classes during the first period of the school day at each school on alternating days. Classes will include students with a range of experience levels, requiring differentiated instruction to support both developing and advanced musicians. Duties The adjunct orchestra teacher will: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction for mixed-level orchestra classes Select and adapt appropriate repertoire to meet the needs of diverse learners Support the development of instrumental technique, ensemble skills, and music literacy Assess and document student progress Collaborate with school faculty and fine arts staff as needed to support program goals

Hours and Rate of Pay Hours:

10 hours per week (2 hours per day, serving one school per day on an alternating schedule)

Schedule:

First period classes at the middle and high school on alternating days

Rate of Pay:

$30.00 per hour
