High School Drama Assistant
Purpose Statement
The High School Drama Assistant is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Drama Advisor during all drama events for the applicable high school. The Assistant will partner with the Advisor to help complete auditions, casting, and rehearsing students throughout the season.

Minimum Qualifications:
Previous experience in drama, preferred.
Strong knowledge of techniques and procedures. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, instruct, and supervise students and a staff. Ability to work under pressure and remain calm.
Proficient in organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions
Assist with the construction of stage scenery and properties
Assist with auditioning, casting, and rehearsing, as needed.
Organize the scene shop, prop room, or other areas as assigned. Assist in hanging, focusing lighting equipment, set-up of microphones and speakers, scene painting and flameproofing, rigging, flying or repairing curtains and scenery.
Program cues and operate sound and/or light boards as assigned.
Mentor students as assigned.
Operate a variety of tools and technician equipment used in the theater productions; observe safety precautions and regulations.
Set up and operate lighting and sound equipment including computerized and manual boards.
Maintain records and inventories as assigned.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working Environment Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress. Successful candidates are subject to post-offer pre-employment physical. Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives.
