Job Description

LA Dance Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Musical Theatre Instructor to teach our Musical Theatre class for the 2026-2027 dance season. The ideal candidate has experience in musical theatre, acting, dance, vocal performance, or theatre education and enjoys working with children and teens in a positive, supportive environment.
Class Schedule:
Tuesdays 7:00 PM - 8:00
PM Responsibilities:
Teach weekly Musical Theatre classes for recreational dancers Introduce students to acting, character development, storytelling, stage presence, and performance techniques Create engaging lesson plans and age-appropriate activities Choreograph and rehearse a recital performance Foster confidence, creativity, and self-expression in students Communicate professionally with studio staff
Qualifications :
Experience in musical theatre, theatre education, dance, acting, or vocal performance Experience teaching children preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Positive, reliable, and professional attitude Ability to choreograph and prepare students for a year-end recital performance
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or training in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Dance, or a related field Previous experience directing, performing, or choreographing musical theatre productions Experience working in a studio or educational setting

LA Dance Academy is an established dance studio located in Covington, Louisiana, serving students ages 2-18. We are committed to providing high-quality dance education in a positive, encouraging, and family-friendly environment.
