Daily Schedule:
Monday / Wednesday 2:45 - 4:30 pm Saint Paul School is a Catholic community in which love of God, neighbor and self are foremost. We provide a challenging curriculum promoting academic excellence infused with Catholic traditions and values. Saint Paul School is looking to hire a drama director to plans, cast, and direct the Spring musical, while fostering creativity and collaboration in our young performers. Responsibilities include scheduling rehearsals, managing costumes/props, and overseeing technical elements like lighting and sound. They must prioritize a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment, often collaborating with staff and parents. Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management:
Selecting scripts, casting, scheduling rehearsals, and coordinating performances.Instruction:
Teaching basic acting techniques, vocal skills, and stage presence suitable for young children.Technical & Logistics:
Coordinating set construction, costumes, sound, and lighting, often with parent or teacher volunteers.Safety & Supervision:
Ensuring safety during rehearsals and performances, including monitoring students at all times.Communication:
Communicating with parents regarding schedules, costumes, and tickets. Qualifications & SkillsExperience:
Previous experience working with grades 5-8 youth and directing children's theater.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Theater, Education, or related field is often preferred.Key Traits:
Excellent organizational skills, patience, creativity, and ability to motivate students. Other AspectsScheduling:
Requires after-school hours, especially close to performance dates.
Collaboration:
