Compensation:

- 50 per class based on experience, reliability, and class assignment.
Most classes are 60 minutes in length and require approximately 85 minutes total on-site, including arrival, setup, teaching time, student dismissal, and parent pickup. Drama Kids is a growing, women-owned small local business serving Novi, Northville, Plymouth, Canton, Livonia, Brighton, South Lyon, Livonia, Wixom, and surrounding communities. We are looking for energetic, reliable teachers who are passionate about working with children and using drama as a tool for confidence-building and personal growth. This position is specifically designed as a supplemental-income opportunity and is not intended to replace full-time employment.

Because we teach throughout western Metro Detroit, candidates must be comfortable driving to schools and community locations throughout our service area. We do our best to assign classes close to home, but flexibility with travel is essential.
About Drama Kids:
Drama Kids is the world's largest developmental drama program. We use drama, creative movement, theatre games, public speaking activities, and imaginative play to help children develop confidence, communication skills, leadership abilities, and creativity. This is developmental drama, not production drama. Every child participates, regardless of experience or ability level. No auditions. No cuts. No elaborate sets. No weekend rehearsals. Our focus is helping every child succeed, not producing a perfect show.
What you will do:
Teach engaging after-school drama classes using our proven curriculum Teach using our provided curriculum and lesson plans Lead theatre games, movement activities, improvisation, and mini-scripts Help children build confidence and communication skills Create a positive and encouraging classroom environment Build relationships with students and families Serve as a positive role model for children ages 5-12 What this job is

$45
Most classes require approximately 85 minutes total, including arrival, setup, teaching time, student dismissal, and parent pickup.
School-year commitment:
September through May Classes are held Monday through Thursday Most classes begin around 3:30 PM Teachers typically teach 1-4 classes per week Each class includes approximately 15 minutes of arrival/setup time before class and 10 minutes after class for student dismissal and parent pickup Training provided Classes are assigned based on enrollment and location needs. Hours may increase over time as our growing program expands into additional schools and communities. Additional paid opportunities may be available for camps, performances, events, marketing, and special programs You will be a great fit if you: Love working with children Have strong energy and enthusiasm Enjoy drama, theatre, public speaking, or performance Are dependable and professional Have reliable transportation Are comfortable driving throughout the Metro Detroit West service area Some teachers may travel 15-45 minutes between home, schools, and community locations depending on assignments Can commit to a consistent weekly schedule throughout the school year Bonus points for experience in education, theatre, youth programs, camps, coaching, speech, communications, or child development. The schedule is flexible and can be built around your availability.
