Mondays or Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 PM starting August for 4 weeks

In-person About Jersey Improv Lab Jersey Improv Lab creates beginner-friendly, low-pressure improv and comedy programs in Hoboken and Jersey City. Our Hoboken/Jersey City program has grown quickly, and we are now looking to expand to Somerville. The Role We're looking for an Improv Comedy Instructor to lead a 4 adult improv class. This is a facilitation-forward teaching role, not a performance or showcase track. You'll be teaching true beginners and casual learners in a supportive, fun, comedy-first environment. Prior improv teaching experience required. You will have the liberty to design your own workshop curriculum. Class Details 4 week improv comedy class Wednesdays, 3 hours per session 16 adult students (capped) For beginners No showcase, no auditions, no homework All logistics, registration, and marketing handled by Jersey Improv Lab Responsibilities Design and lead a 4 week improv comedy curriculum in your own teaching style Create a welcoming, encouraging environment for adult beginners Teach improv fundamentals through games, exercises, and scene work Manage group dynamics (shy students, louder personalities, etc.) Start and end sessions on time What We're Looking For Experience teaching improv to adult beginners Strong facilitation and communication skills Warm, encouraging teaching style Reliable and professional Comfortable teaching comedy without a performance goal Nice to have (but not required): Background in applied or community-based improv Corporate or non-theater teaching experience Compensation Competitive, paid teaching opportunity Compensation discussed directly with qualified candidates Paid per session based on experience (open to other pay structures) Why Teach with Jersey Improv Lab Small, engaged groups Adults who want to be there No performance pressure or showcase Clear expectations and support Only focus on teaching; we will handle all marketing and logistics Opportunity for recurring work as the program grows How to Apply Please apply via Indeed or email hello@jerseyimprovlab.
