The ideal candidate will inspire students through the exploration of theater, performance, and creative expression. This position offers an opportunity to cultivate a love for the arts while enhancing students' confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive dramatics curriculum that aligns with educational standards and student interests. Organize and direct school plays, performances, and other theatrical events, ensuring a high-quality experience for both participants and audiences. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and creativity. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate dramatics into the broader educational experience. Provide mentorship and guidance to students in acting, stagecraft, and other aspects of theater production. Conduct auditions, rehearsals, and workshops, offering constructive feedback to help students grow as performers. Manage budgets and resources for productions, including costumes, props, and set design. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the school community regarding events, schedules, and opportunities in dramatics. Stay informed about best practices and trends in theater education, incorporating new ideas into the program. Requirements Previous experience in teaching or directing theater, preferably in a middle school setting. Strong knowledge of various aspects of theater production, including acting, directing, and stage design. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A passion for the performing arts and a commitment to fostering student engagement in dramatics. Certification in education or relevant teaching credentials preferred.
