Fifth St Oxford, PA 19363 Other $2,385.00 - $2,617.00 per unit Penn's Grove Middle School Posted 5/28/2026 Summary Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Shakespeare Coach to inspire and guide students in the appreciation and performance of Shakespearean works. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Shakespeare's plays, sonnets, and historical context, and will be committed to fostering a love for literature and drama among middle school students. This role involves coaching students in acting techniques, textual analysis, and performance skills, while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans focused on Shakespearean texts, including plays and sonnets. Facilitate workshops and rehearsals to enhance students' acting skills and understanding of Shakespearean language. Provide individualized coaching and feedback to students to improve their performance and interpretation of characters. Organize and direct student performances of selected Shakespeare plays, ensuring an enriching and educational experience. Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate Shakespearean themes into the broader curriculum. Encourage students' creativity and critical thinking through discussions and activities related to Shakespeare's works. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them grow as performers and scholars. Create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters a love for literature and the arts. Participate in school events and meetings to promote the Shakespeare program and engage with the school community. Requirements Strong knowledge of Shakespearean literature and history. Experience in teaching or coaching drama, preferably at the middle school level. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds. Proven ability to inspire and motivate students in the performing arts. Familiarity with various acting techniques and methodologies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Passion for literature, theater, and education, with a commitment to fostering student engagement and success. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and the community to enhance the educational experience.
