Role Description:
Aug Prep North is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and visionary Theatre Teacher to build and lead our Middle School theatre program, inspiring students to discover their voices, creativity, and confidence through performance. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator with a passion for theatre and expertise across all facets of theatrical production and performance. Additionally, this role offers the opportunity to create and direct after-school theatrical productions in the We Energies Foundation Performing Arts Center, helping to cultivate a vibrant and growing theatre culture within the Aug Prep community.
In This Role, You Will:
Build upon the strong foundation established in our elementary theatre programs Foster a cohesive and inspiring K-8 theatre experience while preparing students for success in our high school theatre program Guide and mentor students in classroom instruction, performance, and the technical aspects of theatre Develop and implement a comprehensive MS theatre curriculum that spirals skill development and fosters creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. Create meaningful opportunities for students to showcase their work and talent Communicate proactively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues, providing frequent updates on student progress, classroom activities, and school initiatives. Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues, supervisors, students, parents/guardians, and community members, maintaining positive, solution-oriented relationships that foster a strong, inclusive environment for optimal learning. Continuously seek professional growth through building and department meetings/professional development, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars/in-services. Serve with a flexible, open heart that recognizes no duty is outside the scope of your role-we are a team that is stronger together in service of our students. Collaborate with the Arts Team to support cross-grade arts events(Arts Live), and school-wide celebrations of creativity. Monitor and support students during morning arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal. What We're Looking For A passionate educator who believes in the power of theatre to transform confidence, communication, and community. A belief in the ability of every child and a commitment to ensure excellence for each student. Active participation in a Christian church. Degree in Theatre Education or related field, including any other requirements for accreditation (Master's degree a plus). State teaching license not required. Effective oral and written communication skills; bilingual (written and spoken) in Spanish preferred. Team player committed to the St. Augustine Preparatory mission and model.
