AMO
INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATE PREP PROGRAM
(CPP) Anyone interested in becoming a certified CMSP Instructor must first attend the CMSP's Instructor Training Course (ITC
  • $695).
Because of the intensity of the ITC certification course, candidates are required to train and prepare under the sponsorship of an operating site. The CPP usually takes from 6 to 8 weeks with numerous steps along the way. AMO does not charge candidates who participate in its Candidate Prep Program. Why is AMO's free preparatory program also unpaid? AMO invests significant costs to provide our mentors, staff, and operational and financial resources to prepare and develop a candidate over a 2-3 month period. This prep greatly aids in a candidate's passage of the CMSP's Instructor Training Course. Once certified by CMSP, the candidate can become part of the AMO Team with regular weekend assignments and pay. Current Instructors are earning from $1,300 to $6,000+ per month depending on their frequency of work and level of promotions attained!
PRE-ITC COURSES
As part of prepping for the ITC, candidates must complete two courses before attending the
ITC:
1. Motorcyclist Training Course (MTC
  • $425), and 2. Intermediate Rider Clinic (IRC
  • $250
  • 350).
AMO offers the
MTC FREE
once a candidate has enrolled in the ITC (more details from AMO). AMO reimburses up to $250 for taking the
IRC. PRE-ITC TRAINING & PREP AMO
conducts free training for selected candidates. AMO Mentor Trainers guide candidates through all of the training and prerequisite process.
  • Shadow (side-by-side) with our Mentor Trainers in 6-12 live sessions. Depending on the candidate's progress, this can take 1.5 to 2.5 full weekends.
  • Shadow 1-4 classroom training sessions (via Zoom) to learn how to present/teach key concepts in the curriculum, then conduct 1-3 mock classroom sessions before one or more Mentor Trainers.
  • Receive riding skills coaching from AMO Mentor Trainers to help pass the CMSP riding test on both your personal bike and a training bike.
Much practice is recommended with full gear. This all leads to the next available CMSP Instructor Training Course; dates are shared during orientation.
ADMINISTRATIVE STEPS BEFORE TAKING THE ITC
