Life Instructor Qualifications:

CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (required) Experience working with young children, including those with special needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder) Regularly lift and carry children up to 50 pounds and safely move in a pool environment (kneeling, crouching, reaching) Verbal and written communication skills for documenting client progress and communicating with families Valid Florida drivers license and access to transportation Float4Life Certification (or obtain after hire) Previous aquatic instruction or therapy experience Summary Easterseals is seeking a Float4Life Instructor to deliver life-saving drowning prevention services to children and families in our community. This role provides one-on-one, individualized float lessons at indoor and outdoor pool locations, with a focus on children including those with special needs. Responsibilities Deliver personalized Float4Life instruction using evidence-based techniques Manage a caseload of clients, including scheduling and service coordination Track progress and document milestones after each lesson Collaborate with families to support water safety and skill development Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free pool environment, including basic pool upkeep and equipment checks Use tools such as iPads, computers, and documentation systems to record services Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all privacy standards Participate in continuous improvement efforts and assist with program needs as assigned Work actively in the water for extended periods (up to 5 hours), supporting and physically assisting children during instruction Benefits Live and on-demand Professional Development opportunities Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(k) Savings Plan Easterseals Cares Wellness Program Compensation Salary will be $30.00-$33.00 per hour (based on experience) Part time position (25 hours per week) Easterseals Florida is a Drug Free Workplace (DFWP).
