Job Description

The Driver Safety Instructor will be responsible for on-boarding training and orientation, remedial training, accident root cause training, quarterly training, and problem resolution while creating a positive safety attitude and environment. This position will work remotely to travel to operation(s) in various locations. Business will require periodic weekend work for training, meetings and support during high volume times.
Responsibilities:
Conduct on-boarding training and orientation, remedial training, accident root cause training, quarterly training and problem resolution for drivers through hands-on and classroom training. Perform skill assessments as well as train, coach, and mentor drivers to develop the skills necessary to become safe and successful Ruan drivers. Teach operating team regarding safety regulations and matters. Interpret company policy and accurately communicate to team members and drivers. Develop and maintain good working relationships with operating team members and drivers.
Requirements:
Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a driver classroom instruction environment strongly preferred. Experience as an active truck driver for 3 years Ability to understand, demonstrate and explain safe vehicle operations to others. Prior driver training experience strongly preferred. Must hold a valid CDL and be medically certified to drive. Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required. Must have the ability to travel on a frequent or weekly basis.
