A Driving Instructor is responsible for teaching students the rules of the road and the safe way to handle an automobile or motorcycle. This may involve both classroom and/or behind the wheel instruction. They are required to remain up to date with their regional and national traffic laws to insure proper curriculum and demonstration. Some inform their students on the process to obtain a valid driver's license in their region or nation.

Plans and enforces individual and group curriculum and activities to stimulate students appropriate learning, while directing the lessons of other instructors.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in field of course instruction or 5 years of related Teaching/Classroom experience, Excellent Driving Record, Must have computer skills, Bilingual a plus, but not required. General Accountabilities Trains instructors in the proper operation of school vehicles Performs teacher/instructors duties as required Conducts effective behind the wheel training programs for new drivers Conducts investigations in cooperation with Fleet Department to determine causes of car accidents and to improve safety procedures. Maintains records related to compliance with SOS regulations. Plans and implements energy saving changes, such as reducing routes, optimizing capacities, employing alternate modes of transportation, or minimizing idling. Serves as liaison between parents and program director. Relays information and recommendations to program director. Participates in orientation of new staff. Identifies potential improvements and enhancements to program and recommends corresponding changes in procedure. Gives feedback to program director regarding staff issues. Identifies and recommends appropriate action for problem resolution. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Conducts meetings to provide and report information.
