Riverland Community College welcomes applications for the unlimited full-time (UFT) position of Truck Driving Instructor from individuals who are passionate about helping students succeed. Teaching assignments will be located at the Riverland campus of Albert Lea. The instructor may be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom and lab format as well as online, hybrid and interactive television formats. Classes meet during daytime hours. The candidate must be able to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and college laboratory assistants in lab settings, demonstrate knowledge of and experience in assessment of student learning outcomes, participate in department meetings, curriculum development, and college-wide committees, and maintain ongoing professional development activities. Minimum Qualifications Education Requirement A graduate of a truck driving program. Occupational Experience Requirement Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a CDL Class "A" tractor-trailer/truck driver. Recency Requirement One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Professional Requirement Minnesota Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and U.S. Department of Transportation Medical Certificate (DOT Health Card). Preferred Qualifications Unrestricted CDL-A (airbrake and manual transmission capability) with the following endorsements or willingness to obtain:
