Job Type:

Casual Summer Employment, Part-Time Shift and schedule Monday to Friday Shift times include:

• 4 hour AM shifts starting between 8-9:30 am
• 4-5 hour PM shifts starting between 12:30-1:30 PM
• 9 hour shift 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM with one hour unpaid break
• Times are approximate and will be based on scheduling needs

Requirements:

• Candidates with or currently in a program for Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or related degrees are preferred.
• Act 33/34, FBI and NSOR clearances and physical/TB test
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and the Internet Mandated Reporter Certification within 45 days of hire (paid training) 7 hours of virtual DHS training (paid training) Complete CPR, Pediatric First Aid training within the first 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the smooth daily operation of the classroom in alignment with Carriage House Children's Center (CHCC) policies and procedures; support a positive team environment through clear communication, modeling best practices, and upholding high standards of care and professionalism
• Follow best practices for keeping children healthy and safe in Center-based care, following all licensing and regulatory policies and procedures related to PA Department of Human Services (DHS), Keystone STARS and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
• Supervise children at all times including naptime, mealtime, and toileting times
• Use positive, sensitive and consistent encouragement with children
• Collaborate with co-teachers to develop classroom lesson plans which provide children with a variety of developmentally appropriate and engaging experiences that are responsive to children's needs
• Apply strong and appropriate classroom management skills
• Engage in professional growth activities to improve professional and personal skills
