Driving School Instructor

About us Bee Safe Driving School in Simpsonville is approved by the SCDMV and is one of several Bee Safe Driving locations in South Carolina. Our goal is to provide the highest-quality driving instruction in the area to help parents instill safe and defensive driving skills into their teen drivers in order to contribute to safer roads in SC. State law requires every 15 and 16-year-old who wants to get their driver's license to complete driver education, making our industry virtually recession-proof. We are looking for caring people who want to impact someone's life and make money doing it. We are seeking someone looking for flexible part-time work hours for this contract position. We offer training and will help you gain confidence and knowledge to be a safe driving instructor.

Responsibilities:

• Provide driving instruction to teen and adult students
• Conduct in-car training sessions to teach practical driving skills
• Prepare each student to pass the SCDMV-approved Road Test
• Administer test to each one (after completion of DMV Testing certification)
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and evaluations
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment during driving lessons
• Participate in classroom training sessions
• Be friendly, fun, encouraging, positive, and supportive

Requirements:

• Must live within 10 miles of Simpsonville, SC
• Must be at least 28 years old
• Previous experience working with teenagers preferred, including your own if applicable.
• Must be a responsible, and caring person seeking to help young drivers learn the skills to be safe drivers
• Most drives are after school hours Monday through Thursday, and all day on weekends from August through May
• Driving instruction hours will also be available on weekdays during holidays and the summer vacation
• Must be available after school hours and on weekends during the school year.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey information and instructions to students
• Knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques
• Valid SC driver's license
• MUST have a 10+ year clean driving record
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Ability to connect with teens quickly and have a fun, relaxed, encouraging, positive, engaging personality.
• All instructors must attain DMV certification.

We will help you with this process, but you must be willing and able to complete DMV instructor training, become a certified instructor and eventually a certified 3rd party tester. The perfect candidate will reside in or near Simpsonville, SC, have a flexible schedule, and a genuine desire to work with students during after-school hours and on weekends. Some weekday hours may also be available for homeschooled students or adult students. During the summer, students can be instructed during the day on weekdays, in the evenings, and on weekends. This is a great opportunity for retired educators, coaches, first responders and other adults with a flexible schedule looking to help new drivers become safe drivers.
