(Department of Transportation) regulations Air brake Full Job Description Lone Star CDL is looking for a motivated and reliable Bilingual CDL Instructor (English/Spanish) to join our team on weekends. If you have a valid CDL Class A license and enjoy helping others succeed, we'd love to hear from you. No prior teaching experience is required—we'll provide the training you need. Responsibilities Train students in the safe operation of Class A and B commercial vehicles. Conduct hands-on behind-the-wheel training for students operating tractor-trailers, and trucks with air brakes Demonstrate driving techniques, backing maneuvers, and pre-trip inspections. Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance in accordance with state and federal guidelines Ensure all training activities adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices Stay current with updates in traffic laws, FMCSA regulations, and trucking industry standards to provide accurate instruction Maintain a professional and positive learning environment. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license (required). Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Clean driving record preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, dependable, and professional. Ability to work weekends. Ability to demonstrate safe driving techniques through practical instruction and coaching Familiarity with adult education principles Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts and foster a positive learning environment No previous instructor experience required. What We Offer $20.00/hour to start, with performance-based pay increases after the probationary period. Paid training to become an instructor. Supportive team environment.
