A Driving Instructor is responsible for teaching students the rules of the road and the safe way to handle an automobile or motorcycle. This may involve both classroom and/or behind the wheel instruction. They are required to remain up to date with their regional and national traffic laws to insure proper curriculum and demonstration. Some inform their students on the process to obtain a valid driver's license in their region or nation.

Job Duties:
Must be available from 7:30am to 6pm (flexible hours) Must be willing and able to drive a mini bus. (21 years or older required per licensing) Assists in developing and preparing plans outlining learning experiences and activities for a group of children. Implements the program to meet the needs, special interests and capabilities of children. Responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including understanding and being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary. Provides a neat, clean environment for all children including snack/kitchen area, and monitors children's activities to ensure that children clean up after themselves. Attends staff meetings and in-service training to meet the continuing education requirements established by the licensing office. Communicates with parents through the lead teacher and as required by Childcare Director. Assists with children during transitional times and changes in the daily schedule. Works cooperatively with all staff and communicates directly Interacts with the children at all times Maintains a clean, sanitary, and attractive room, including shelves, closets and drawers. Observes the behavior of children and report any unusual behaviors or issues with the principal & childcare director. Demonstrates flexibility to move from one group of children to another when requested. Participates in special events, field trips and special programs. Becomes familiar with state regulations and inspection procedures and policies and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook. Supports the program goals of the YMCA. Assists with other duties as assigned by Childcare Director.
Skills/Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid Must have 24 pre-service training hours Bilingual a plus Excellent interpersonal, strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to teach and work with children Basic knowledge of computers. Education Requirements 2-4+ years experience in childhood education preferred
