Faulkner University's College of Health Sciences (CHS) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Simulation Educator . The selected individual will serve as a faculty leader in simulation-based education and will design, teach, assess, and continuously improve evidence-based learning for CHS students, PATH healthcare professionals and rural partners, future workforce participants, and interprofessional learners. The Simulation Educator will collaborate with CHS faculty, healthcare partners, and simulation personnel to develop and deliver high-quality simulation education aligned with curricula, professional competencies, accreditation expectations, and standards of best practice. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position. Statewide travel is required, and occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight travel may be necessary.

Summary of Duties:

Design and teach simulation-based learning experiences for students across all College of Health Sciences programs Collaborate with CHS program directors and faculty to align simulation activities with curricula, learning outcomes, professional competencies, and accreditation requirements Conduct educational needs assessments and develop measurable learning outcomes, simulation scenarios, competency assessments, facilitator guides, and related educational materials Facilitate simulation experiences, learner orientation and pre-briefing, skills practice, and structured debriefing using evidence-based simulation pedagogy Assess learner knowledge, technical skills, clinical reasoning, communication, teamwork, leadership, patient safety, and other applicable competencies Provide feedback, coaching, remediation, and deliberate-practice opportunities based on learner performance Develop and deliver PATH simulation education for practicing healthcare professionals, rural partners, and future workforce participants through the Simulation Hub, mobile simulation, and in-situ education Develop and facilitate interprofessional education activities involving CHS programs and external academic and healthcare partners Provide faculty development and coaching related to simulation design, facilitation, debriefing, learner assessment, and interprofessional education Participate in scholarship, educational innovation, quality improvement, accreditation activities, academic service, and program evaluation Maintain required educational records and contribute to accreditation documentation and various reporting needs Travel throughout Alabama to support PATH rural healthcare simulation and partner education

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in nursing, an allied health profession, health sciences, health professions education, healthcare simulation, education, or a closely related field required; master's degree preferred Minimum of three years of relevant clinical, healthcare, higher-education teaching, professional education, or workforce-training experience required Demonstrated experience in healthcare education, clinical instruction, simulation design or facilitation, structured debriefing, curriculum development, skills training, or competency assessment required Candidates whose highest earned degree is a bachelor's degree must demonstrate substantial additional preparation in simulation-based education, adult learning, curriculum and assessment, and structured debriefing Current, unrestricted professional license or certification required when applicable to the candidate's discipline and assigned teaching responsibilities Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator credential preferred at appointment; attainment within two years of hire or when eligible is expected Valid driver's license and ability to meet University insurance requirements Ability to travel statewide and work occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight assignments as required Commitment to Faulkner University's Christian mission For initial application submit: Resume Cover letter Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory background check and verification of work authorization through E-Verify.
