Job Description
TROY University's Leadership Institute in the College of Education is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to serve as a leadership lecturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the Leadership Institute and engaging in administrative and academic activities that support student success. Administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to, curriculum development, student advising, mentoring and recruitment, academic scheduling, course management, and participation in faculty and administrative meetings. Additional duties will include facilitating leadership-related instruction through workshops, guest lectures, and presentations for internal and external organizations. In Class Teaching Percentage Online Teaching Percentage Minimum Qualifications 1. Master's degree in an appropriate field focusing on or relating to leadership 2. Proven leadership ability in responsible leadership positions 3. Curriculum development skills and experience with in-person and online environments 4. Demonstrated classroom and/or online teaching experience 5. Interest and ability in developing new courses and programs within the Leadership Development Program Preferred Qualifications 1. Terminal degree with a Leadership focus or related field (ABD is acceptable) 2. Extensive leadership experience in a large organization where the individual was responsible for many individuals and reported to high-level authorities 3. Extensive experience working with individuals from diverse cultures, including international individuals 4. Extensive experience planning curriculum, teaching, and working with students and faculty 5. Proven ability to work across a large organization and in a university setting and ability to work with other colleges and departments across the university 6. Previous experience as a course director/developer with responsibility for overseeing the course content 7. Working knowledge of military education and training—especially helpful for working with online instruction, as well as with students on campus who have military experience or who are from military families 8. Global awareness from international study and/or travel to various destinations.
