Job Description
New College of Florida invites applications for semester or year-long Presidential Scholar positions, starting August 2026. Successful candidates will be prepared to teach undergraduate general education courses and, when appropriate, contribute to the development of academic programs. Successful candidates will also be expected and encouraged to continue their own research and scholarship, and to host panels and/or workshops on issues aligned with, and important to, New College of Florida's mission as Florida's residential liberal arts honors college dedicated to freedom of expression. These Presidential Scholar positions are 5, 9 or 12 month appointments for the 2026-27 academic year. They have the possibility of renewal. We are particularly interested in candidates with a demonstrated track record of achievement in teaching and scholarship. Terminal degree in a field aligned with New College of Florida's mission. Demonstrated track record of achievement, and national recognition in teaching and/or scholarship. Situated on Sarasota Bay along the Gulf of Mexico, New College is the nationally recognized honors college of the State University System in Florida. A small, innovative liberal arts institution, New College offers an individualized and student-centered curriculum.
