Academic Position Summary:
Expected to begin Fall 2026, we are seeking a dynamic, collaborative educator who will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Human Development & Family Relations ( HDFR ) and providing service to the institution. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in line with the successful candidate's expertise. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the HDFR Department at the main campus in Plattsburgh, NY, and remotely with faculty and staff located at the Queensbury campus. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate students; provide academic advising, including advising for the HDFR minor program; participate in curriculum and program development; serve on committees at the university, school, and department levels; and participate on the advisory board for the department. The Human Development & Family Relations ( HDFR ) Department vision is to prepare students to lead and serve in the human services field, and improve the lives of people in a complex world. We are part of the School of Education, Health and Human Services, which prepares students for successful entry into their profession. We focus on an ethical approach to human well-being and encourage critical thinking and practical application. As SUNY Plattsburgh is an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs and practices.
