Postgraduate Degree Job Description Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for adjunct teaching positions in all major content areas related to General Education, including but not limited to: Mathematics, Science, Government, History, English, Speech Communication, and Humanities. These part-time/adjunct instructors will provide on-site instruction to deliver Redlands courses at the Federal Correctional Institute in El Reno, OK (FCI-ER). This is a continuous vacancy announcement filled on an "as needed basis". All applications will be kept on file, and when courses become available, relevant applicants will be contacted. Instruction will be on-site at a federal prison with inmates who are leveraging Second Chance Pell. Student access to technology is significantly limited, and as such instructors will not be able to use Canvas (or other learning platforms) to manage the class. Canvas will be used as an administrative tool. Candidates must be able to pass a federal background check, and will be expected to participate in mandatory in-service training associated with teaching in a corrections environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching assigned in-person classes Supporting the integrity of the curricula with the relevant Department Head Coordinating with the Director of Institutional Accreditation and Special Academic Initiatives Following Redlands Community College's official course calendar, observing holiday breaks, and adhering to scheduled class times Adhering to policies and procedures related to educators at FCI-ER, including background checks, ID badges, approved attire, and security Assessing and encouraging student achievement in accordance with learning objectives Interacting in an effective and encouraging manner with students individually and in groups Qualifications include: Master's or higher degree in the teaching discipline, a Master's degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in the targeted discipline, or tested experience in accordance with our Standard of Practice - Minimally Qualified Faculty.
