Position Description Summary Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for temporary faculty positions (full-time one semester, part-time one semester or part-time academic year) as needs arise in the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership for the M.S. in School Counseling Program. The M.S. in School Counseling Program trains future PK-12 professional school counselors who can help school-aged students navigate the complexities of school and life, while promoting a successful educational experience through academic, social/emotional, and career development.

ESSENTIAL/SPECIFIC DUTIES

Candidates will be expected to plan and deliver instruction through online modes of instruction including asynchronous and synchronous. In addition to teaching classes, temporary faculty are expected to hold office hours, engage with departmental faculty, attend department meetings, complete scholarly activities related to the position, and engage in service activities. Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education requirement: Master's Degree in School Counseling Three (3) years of full-time, post-Master's experience working as a certified school counselor in a PK-12 school setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Earned Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision Five (5) years of full-time, post-Master's experience working as a certified school counselor in a PK-12 school setting Two (2) years of full-time prior experience teaching graduate courses in School Counseling and/or counseling related fields Experience using synchronous and asynchronous teaching technology (e.g., course management system, Zoom, video and audio recording programs) Special Instructions to Applicants A complete application includes a cover letter discussing experiences and qualifications for the specified position, resume/CV, unofficial transcripts, and contact information for three professional references .
