This position coordinates workforce development and experiential learning initiatives, including undergraduate research, project-based learning, events, and faculty support for the implementation of experiential learning. To best serve the students, department, and college, this position is fully in-person. Essential Functions 30
  •  Coordinate recruitment, placement, and tracking of experiential learning opportunities with an emphasis on
STEM/STEAM
disciplines, including undergraduate research experiences (UREs), project-based learning, and work-based learning activities. Support faculty in the development and implementation of UREs and applied learning experiences, particularly within
STEM/STEAM
programs, including faculty professional development workshops. 25
  •  Assist with the development, planning, and implementation of events and activities related to workforce development, experiential learning, undergraduate research, and
STEM/STEAM
workforce pathways. Activities may include career and internship fairs, research showcases, workshops, classroom visits, community presentations, and student success initiatives that promote awareness of applied learning and workforce opportunities. Provide supervision of student workers and part-time staff. 15
  •  Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with external partners, including nonprofits, businesses, industry, and government agencies to expand experiential learning and workforce opportunities for students.
Coordinate partner engagement, support student placements in collaboration with partners, and monitor partner satisfaction and participation outcomes. Identify new partnership opportunities aligned with
STEM/STEAM
workforce pathways. 20%
  • Continuously develop, maintain, track, and monitor program data related to student participation, outcomes, and milestones, with particular attention to
STEM/STEAM
student engagement and persistence. Compile data and prepare reports to support program evaluation, decision-making, grant reporting, and continuous improvement efforts. 10
  • Support the identification, application, tracking, and administration of funding opportunities for students, including scholarships, grants, stipends, and external funding related to experiential learning, undergraduate research, and
STEM/STEAM
initiatives. Assist with documentation, compliance, and communication related to student funding and program resources. Other duties as assigned, commensurate to the grade level of the position. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of full-time equivalent student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs. OR Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of full-time equivalent student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs. An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree of Science in a STEM Subject 2. Experience developing business and community partnerships. 3. Experience collaborating with faculty and staff on experiential education including but not limited to, undergraduate research, project-based learning, and internships. 4.Experience with public speaking and delivering presentations to diverse audiences in both small and large group settings. 5. Experience with planning, coordinating and budgeting for special events or workshops 6. Experience tracking/collecting data and creating reports. 7. One year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.
