Job Summary Job Summary Mountainside Success Academy (MSA) is an El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) Community School serving students who have experienced challenges meeting the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and attendance expectations of a traditional comprehensive high school setting. As an independent study program with required in-person instructional time, MSA provides individualized learning plans that support students in earning credits toward graduation while exploring post-secondary college and career pathways. At MSA, we are committed to fostering a supportive, student-centered environment where strong relationships with students and families are the foundation of success. Through personalized instruction, targeted interventions, and a focus on whole-child development, we empower students to overcome barriers, achieve academic success, and reach their full potential. This is a 32-hour per week position, 7.25 hours Monday-Thursday, 3 hours on Friday. This position is at Mountainside Success Academy on the El Dorado County Office of Education campus. This position will work directly with the administration, teachers, classified staff, students, families, and various county agencies that provide resources for students. Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Student supervision
  • Assist Breakfast and Lunch service as needed
  • Student transportation via EDCOE vans
  • Academic and Social Emotional classroom support
  • Support school events and school community initiatives
  • Work with administration and classified staff to support vulnerable youth, i.e. Foster, McKinney-Vento, trauma-affected
  • Support families/students in accessing resources for unmet needs Key qualities necessary for this position:
  • Authentic relationship building through active listening
  • Operate with empathy and compassion
  • Creative problem solving
  • Student information systems experience preferable

Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or the equivalent, and two years of college (48 units), or AA degree (or higher), or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.
Experience required:
