Job Description

The Student Office Assistant will provide clerical support for the Honors Program, help with the completion of office projects, support the program's director and coordinator with front desk procedures, and support any events that are hosted by the program.
Specific Duties:
Staff the South Hall front desk and participate in other customer service duties Maintain office inventory and restock supplies Maintain South Hall (open up for AM shift, close up for evening shift) Update social media for honors events Recruit students and develop recruiting material Contact and support prospective students and students in the program Support Honors faculty and collect course syllabi from Honors courses Complete tasks assigned by the program director and coordinator Some training may occur for future work, including processing applications, checking enrollment for Honors students, etc. Such tasks will require FERPA training and involve access to Banner, Etrieve, and Degree Works.
Required Skills:
Ability to focus on details and think creatively. Strong clerical skills (filing and typing). Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google products, etc.) Must be reliable, accurate, and flexible. Communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Convey a positive attitude in person and via phone and email. A working knowledge of Honors and its culture is highly desirable.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to remain seated for up to an hour while working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Judgment and consideration while handling the confidential information of students (FERPA training will be provided).
Pay Range:
$16.90-$17.50
