Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIPS 1.
Directly responsible to the principal. 2. Directly responsible for performance of delegated functions in pupil personnel, curriculum, or administration.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Assists in the administration of the District educational program in assigned attendance area and may administer a District educational program as assigned or directly by the principal. 2. Supervises curriculum development and evaluates instructional program. 3. Participates in formulation of District policy proposals. 4. Determines adequacy of materials proposed by departments in light of District policy, state law, cost, and appropriateness for learner. 5. Meets individually and collectively with department heads to disseminate information concerning policies and procedures. 6. Keeps principal informed of current research by surveying other schools in regard to new and improved methods of operation. 7. Assists with planning of master schedule. 8. Handles discipline problems and meets with parents. 9. Makes necessary arrangements for plant utilization by various departments. 10. Directs and supervises personnel assigned by the principal. 11. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the principal.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Academic a. Graduate training including Master's degree. b. Training in areas of secondary school administration, curriculum, supervision of instruction and student services. c. A valid California administrative credential. 2. Professional Experience a. Five years successful teaching experience. b. Demonstrated potential as an educational leader through contributions to inservice and research. 3. Related Experience Leadership experience in community, professional, or youth organizations.
