The Department of General Services (DGS) Office of Fiscal Services Accounts Payable Unit is seeking to hire a for a detail-oriented, energetic, personable, and self-motivated career-minded student assistant for openings in the West Sacramento Headquarters office. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. Minimum Qualifications Must complete each term with minimum unit requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate student classifications. Proof will be collected at the end of each Spring and Fall term. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Qualifications Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. Duties and Responsibilities Audit invoices and key voucher under close supervision in a learning capacity to assist with auditing, reconciling, and processing entry level invoices for payment. The student assistant will learn the auditing and keying process by reviewing purchase documents against the invoices and goods received reports in order to determine the payment distribution and method to generate vouchers utilizing MS Office and People Soft to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and fiscal integrity and data accuracy. Sorting mail and checking incoming AP Inbox basket and distributes mails accordingly. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
