Student Leadership Sponsor Summary:
Craig Middle School is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and team oriented candidate to fill an Student Leadership Sponsor position.
Salary:
Placement on the Extra Curricular Salary Schedule as determined by previous experience. Stipend starting at $1500.
Requirements:
Teach and give students the opportunity to develop and enhance skills that are fundamental to leadership roles. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: planning and managing projects; developing effective working relationships; administering policies and procedures, analyzing; effective listening; facilitating meetings; interpersonal aptitude; leadership; managing staff/performance; monitoring activities; and administration.
Responsibilities:
The Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for the following and other duties as assigned. Organize and monitor the middle school Student Leadership team. Review and approve cost estimates. Serve as support for the leadership team throughout the school year. Perform research into leadership qualities and roles. Liaison between team members, mentors, parents, and volunteers; communicate expectations to parents and students about what is expected of them in terms of their commitment to the team, team meetings, coordinating help, maintaining equipment, communicating with your sponsoring organization, purchasing supplies, creating schedules and team building. Enforce standards of performance quality. Nurture a sense of ownership among team members for the team's projects and core values. Display kindness, patience, and professionalism. Attend bi-monthly meetings Host one student dance Host one assembly Accomplish one community give back project Work one concession stand
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Be willing to be part of a team environment
Preferred:
Knowledge of all aspects of the Moffat County School District athletic/activity programming Proven leadership qualities and successful experience in working with students
Work Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: lifting and transporting of heavy to moderate-heavy objects; and significant finger dexterity to operate a keyboard, mouse, hand, and power tools. Sitting for extended periods of time. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. Noise level is moderate to loud.
